Get more out of your space!

Get more out of your space!

Making your living area seem bigger than what it is, is not that hard. Make your room feel more spacious with these simple tips!

You wouldn’t think that the color of flooring in your home would be the reason why the walls seem to feel like they’re shrinking, but flooring hues play a huge role in how the room is perceived. A new flooring trend arising is Blonde and Grey colors and this is why. You can stick to the traditional darker brown colors that have been around for centuries, or you can brighten up your room with a more modern color. The Grey and Blonde color help essentially make the room look bigger and brighter. They help mask the slight dust that accumulates after a couple of days even help cloak meager scratches. Neutral tones gives the room a calm clean perception.

Wide planks are making a comeback and they might be here to stay. Typically within the last couple of centuries the smaller plank 3”- 4” was very popular mainly because the smaller narrow plank had no gaps in comparison to wider planks. Now with all this new technology arising we don’t have a gap problem thanks to micro-beveled edges, there are no spaces! Smaller plank flooring makes the room seem cluttered and smaller than what it is with more seams. Similar in the same way that vertical stripes have a tendency to make ‘chunky’ people look thinner and horizontal stripes tend to make everyone look ‘chunkier’, wood flooring will affect the apparent size and shape of your room.
